About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
Allendale Forge Studios is a volunteer-run arts and community hub in Allendale Town, bringing together local makers, visitors and residents under one roof. Set within the North Pennines, it offers an easy-going way to browse creative work, meet artists and spend time in a welcoming setting. The Forge’s gallery presents a changing programme of monthly exhibitions, including work by individual artists and community projects. Exhibiting artists may offer Meet the Artist opportunities and related workshops, while the gift shop showcases high-quality handmade products from northern makers. Because shop members help run the space themselves, visitors may have the chance to chat with the people behind the work. There is also a café serving home-cooked breakfast and lunch dishes, daily specials, baking and coffee. The café can cater for events, making it a useful part of the venue for gatherings as well as a pleasant place to pause while exploring the gallery and shop. For creative practitioners and small businesses, Allendale Forge Studios provides professional studios, office space and rooms for meetings, workshops, short-term use or pop-up events. Internet access is included with room hire, and the wider facilities support the local community as well as visitors. Whether you are looking for original northern craft, an exhibition, a hands-on workshop or a distinctive space for a meeting, the Forge offers a friendly, community-minded destination with creativity at its heart.
