About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
Aroma Space was a free daytime coworking and community space in Queens Road Peckham. Its official website now states that the workspace has permanently closed because it was no longer financially sustainable to operate. The venue was created as a simple, peaceful and safe place for the local community to come together, so this record should be treated as historical rather than as a current place to work. Before closure, Aroma provided straightforward walk-in coworking for people needing a flexible place to work. The space offered desks and window seats, fast Wi-Fi, plenty of plug sockets, tea and coffee facilities, toilets and access to a barista coffee and deli counter in the Budgens below. It could accommodate approximately 25 people and was designed for flexible daytime use rather than formal serviced-office arrangements. Aroma also served as a community venue. It made space available for wellness activities such as yoga and meditation, as well as meet-ups for community groups and organisations needing a comfortable, flexible setting. The atmosphere was intended to be calm, welcoming and considerate, with a community notice board supporting local connection. The facilities included a lift and accessible toilets, while nearby stations made the venue convenient for local users. It did not provide meeting rooms or phone booths, so callers were asked to be mindful of others. Its strongest distinguishing feature was the combination of free workspace and community use, bringing practical desks together with wellbeing and neighbourhood activity before the venue closed.
