Columba Centre is a community hub in Fionnphort managed in part by South West Mull and Iona Development. Its welcoming offices provide a visible local base where visitors can stop by for a chat, while a second office offers hot-desking with Wi-Fi, an A3 printer and laminator. The centre supports practical day-to-day work as well as wider community activity. Photocopying and printing services are available, making it useful for local residents, community groups, visitors and people needing a quiet place to work while on Mull. The surrounding hub has a distinctly community-led character rather than a conventional commercial workspace feel. Part of the building is occupied by South West Mull Makers, a co-operative of local artists and craftspeople. Their gallery and shop showcase work including paintings, pottery, textiles, jewellery and woodcraft, with workshops also forming part of their wider activity. The centre therefore brings workspace, creative enterprise and community participation together under one roof. SWMID also operates the Columba Centre Community Gym, equipped with cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. A free car park beside the centre adds practical convenience for people arriving by car. With its mix of workspace, local making, fitness and community services, the hub is suited to residents, small initiatives, independent workers and visitors looking to connect with life in south-west Mull.
