About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
Fruitworks was a sizeable coworking and shared workspace venue in Canterbury, supporting freelancers, small businesses and creative teams from a restored Victorian warehouse close to the city centre. The former venue combined open-plan coworking with private studios and fixed desks, offering a choice between collaborative working and reserved space for individuals or teams. Fruitworks provided more than 150 desks and workspaces, alongside meeting facilities, fast Wi-Fi, a professional mailing address, tea and coffee, and areas for members to take a break. Private studio users were also offered secure local networks, while the building was described as having monitored alarms and CCTV. Its community-focused approach was reflected in networking events, workshops and connections between members. The venue hosted meetings and events as well as day-to-day work. Its spaces included the Green Room for relaxed meetings and calls, a conference room for up to 14 people, and a larger event space with a stage, projector and adaptable seating. A public coffee shop served locally roasted coffee, other drinks and food, providing an informal setting for meetings and catch-ups. Fruitworks had a friendly, creative and community-minded character, with an offer aimed particularly at freelancers, SMEs, start-ups and growing teams in and around Canterbury. The official website now states that Fruitworks has closed for good, so this description records its former services rather than presenting the venue as currently operating.
