Our Space is a community-owned hub in Selby created to bring residents, local groups and partner organisations together. It provides a welcoming setting for socialising, learning, enterprise and community-led activity, with its programme shaped around local needs and participation. Visitors can find a varied mix of activities, including workshops, classes, drop-in sessions, regular groups, youth sessions and volunteer-led projects. The hub has also introduced a community café serving hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and toasted teacakes, adding an informal place to meet and spend time with others. The programme is designed to encourage connection and creativity across generations. Recent activities have included crafting, community art, board games, Knit & Natter, practical life-skills sessions, a wellbeing choir and British Sign Language learning. Community events and partner-led activities add further opportunities to take part, develop skills and share ideas. Our Space also welcomes volunteers and supports local initiatives, charities and social enterprises that want to deliver activities or services in the area.
