About this space
A place to settle in and get things done.
The Ladder is a creative arts and culture hub in Redruth, housed in a restored former library and shaped around the idea of giving people space to gather, create, collaborate and share. Its programme and facilities support artists, makers and the wider community, while the building’s heritage gives the venue a distinctive sense of place. The Work Room provides flexible desks, comfortable seating and a calm, focused setting for ad-hoc or regular working. Regular users and day visitors can work alongside other creatives, with an onsite Beats & Roots Café offering drinks and vegetarian meals and snacks. It is a practical option for independent workers who value a welcoming atmosphere as much as a productive workspace. There is much more here than coworking. The Ladder offers performance and rehearsal spaces, studios, community room hire and rooms for making and meeting. Its events programme includes workshops, classes, performances and film screenings, creating opportunities to learn, take part and meet people across Redruth’s creative community. The venue is run by theatre producers Felix Mortimer and Joshua Nawras, whose focus is on supporting writers, performers, directors, designers, technologists, technicians, musicians and other performance-related practitioners. Whether you are developing new work, looking for an inspiring place to work, or joining a local cultural event, The Ladder offers an imaginative, community-minded setting with a strong connection to Redruth’s past and future.
