The Transfer is a friendly, professional co-working space at The Old Print Works in Balsall Heath, Birmingham. It is designed for freelancers, remote workers and anyone who wants a calm, productive place to work away from the distractions of home or a conventional office. The atmosphere is welcoming and community-minded, with an emphasis on affordability, sustainability and meaningful connections. Members can choose from flexible co-working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, one-day and week-long options. Most desks are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while dedicated desks offer a more permanent setup with lockable drawer storage. The space also includes a quieter area for focused work and a more conversational area for relaxed collaboration. The Transfer provides fast Wi-Fi through a dedicated business fibre line, a printer, standing desks and complimentary fairly traded coffee and tea. There is a lunch room with a fridge and microwave, as well as a rear terrace with Wi-Fi. Shared lunches on Wednesdays give members the chance to meet others in the building, while the wider Old Print Works community adds a creative and socially conscious character. Two on-site meeting rooms are available for hire: the Board Room seats eight and the cosier Filing Room seats four. Both have internet access, with projector and screen hire available. The venue encourages walking, cycling and public transport, with covered cycle parking and a nearby bus route. Please note that the co-working space is on the first floor and there is currently no lift access.
